Coal Workers' Pneumoconiosis (CWP), also known as black lung disease, is a form of pneumoconiosis caused by long-term inhalation of coal dust. It is a type of occupational lung disease characterized by the accumulation of coal dust particles in the lungs, leading to inflammation and fibrosis. The modern preferred term remains Coal Workers' Pneumoconiosis, classified under pneumoconioses, a group of interstitial lung diseases caused by inhalation of mineral dusts.
