📋Overview
Ganser syndrome is a rare dissociative disorder historically described as a form of pseudodementia or hysterical pseudodementia. It is characterized by nonsensical or approximate answers to questions (also called 'vorbeireden'), along with other dissociative symptoms. Modern classification places it under dissociative disorders or factitious disorders, often linked to acute stress or trauma. It is considered a conversion or dissociative disorder rather than a primary psychotic or neurological condition.
